God right from creation has created mankind with a need for help.

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 

Genesis 2: 18

God is the main source of help while mankind can only be a medium, the conduit or channel to the help. Thus, creation ushered in the need of help while salvation brought in the fulfilment and dispensation of help. Psalms 60:11-12.

However, any help rendered by mankind that is not accompanied by God becomes a total failure and vanity.

In order to obtain God’s help, then:

• Engage in prayer as prayer provokes the help of God. Hebrew 4: 16
• Be humble and submissive to the will of God
• Be hopeful in the God that provides help. Psalms 42:5
• Acknowledge your helplessness.
