Hearing and Following the Voice of God

When we walk with the Lord;
In the light of His Word;
What a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus
But to trust and obey!
For anyone who desires a robust relationship with God, such must hear and follow Him. God has not called us into religion but into a relationship with Him; and a major attribute of a relationship is communication.
Voice is one of the major factors used to identify a person, and a great asset of a child of God is the access to the Voice of God.
Thus, to measure our relationship with God, it is to quantify by how often we hear God and He speaks to us.
However, many are void of the Word (Voice ) of God and this is prevalent at our present times (Amos 8:12, I. Samuel 3:1). Those who have a relationship with Him hears Him (John 10:27)
A major feature quite distinctive a true Christian is the ability of such to hear and identify the voice of God and to obey Him. Exodus 19:3-6, Deuteronomy 28:1-2
- A major fact is that God will always speak to His people.
- Hearing the voice of God is personal.
- Hearing the voice of God is intangible - not limited to space, time, location, etc
- Hearing the voice of God is at the present - now
To hear the voice of God:
- There is a need for repentance
- Position yourself close to God 1. Samuel 3:3
- Service unto God 1. Samuel 3:1
- Through praises and thanksgiving
- The Word of God - The Voice of God is in the Word of God
- Be born of God, be born again.
